Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the name used by her parents. Lennox was a flute, piano and harpsichord in the Royal Academy of Music London for three years during the 70s. Lennox was able to live on her student stipend as she worked part-time. Lennox felt that her skills weren't as good as those of the Royal Academy classmates. So she began thinking about other options she could pursue. Lennox played the flute in the band Dragons Playground. However, she left shortly before New Faces, the I.T.V. talent contest. She sang lead for The Tourists (a British popband) from 1977 to 1980. She met Dave Stewart, with whom she would form the pop-duo Eurythmics. Lennox collaborated on her solo debut record Diva. It was released in 1993. It was a massive success both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs six solo album that was released in October 2014 was Nostalgia Lennox. The C.D. Lennox has selected her top jazz, blues and soul tracks. Also, in May of 2019, Lennox released Lepidoptera which is a compilation comprising four tracks improvised by piano. This E.P. is a companion piece of her artwork at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called"Now I'll Let You Go... It is the first time she has released an independent album. Annie Lennox (born December 25 1955) is a Scottish musician and political activist. The Tourists were a new-wave band that achieved some recognition in the 1970s. In the following years, Lennox became a part of the band with the band with fellow artist Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. In 1992, Lennox launched a solo career by releasing her debut album Diva which yielded numerous successful songs includingWhy andWalking on Broken Glass. Medusa the 1995 studio album that features covers of songs like No MoreILove Yous andA Whiter Shade of Pale. Six solo studio albums and one compilation album, are to her credit.
